Making a List and Checking it Twice
We are so excited for the new year! This is going to be a very busy year here at Yorktowne Farms. We’ve got a lot of new things coming, one of them being the addition of our new bridal suite being constructed as I’m typing! It will be complete and available for our 2024 season. Please stay tuned for photos. We’re hoping to not only use the suite for weddings, but also for intimate bridal showers and as a small meeting space as well. We also have a wedding of our own happening this year. Our son Ben and his beautiful bride-to-be Cassady, are preparing for their special day in September. Between bridal suite construction and wedding planning, we’re keeping very busy.
One thing we always like to tell our potential clients is that we pride ourselves on giving them enough time to prepare for their special day and encourage them to take that time to have fun with their planning and try not to stress about the details. Your wedding day is the day your’ve been dreaming of and you should have fun when making that dream a reality. I’m so happy that my future daughter-in-love (and yes, I mean in-love) is so organized! She has been planning and scheduling and organizing things since they got engaged and she’s made it fun all the way. She has lists and pictures and ideas written down and that’s something she and I have in common. I’m a huge believer in lists. I know, sounds SO old fashioned, but there’s something about placing a check mark beside a task, or drawing a big line through it when you’ve completed it. Take the bridal suite construction. I had an idea, a plan, for how I wanted it to look. My husband took that plan and those ideas and is making it a reality. We have a list of things from beginning to end that we are checking off and it is so much fun seeing that list dwindle away as we go. As of now, the suite has been constructed, windows installed, heat, plumbing and electric are finished. The painters have finished phase one and we are moving on to cabinets for the kitchen area. The list keeps getting smaller and those lines and checkmarks are appearing more and more. Ben and Cassady are checking off their list as well and they have given themselves enough time to breathe and have fun while finalizing their plans. This is a time they want to remember. Not just the actual wedding day itself, but all that leads up to it and making lists and checking them twice isn’t just for Christmas anymore!
Our wish for everyone this new year is health, happiness and lots of check marks on those wedding to-do lists!
